So really a much better fit for the near desk view crowd.

Aug 31, 2002 · The LG OLED TV models are also an option if you disable automatic static brightness limiter from the service menu. Pretty much all of these are the same thing - same LG TV panels, varying firmware and port features. If you've been using a 43" monitor, I'd aim at the 42" OLED models instead. They are a more practical size for a desktop unit.

Jun 13, 2002 · I've only been using OLED for a couple months and experienced none of the issues you mentioned. Moved from a 27" Acer Predator 1440 144hz IPS w/o HDR to an OLED Alienware 32 4K 240hz w/ HDR. Worth every penny. I have a Dell 4k IPS on another computer in the same room and the picture is inferior.

Aug 18, 2006 · All I want is a 32" 4K 240Hz FLAT OLED, QD OLED is preferred but after seeing just how hard the brightness has been nerfed on these monitors I'm thinking this is also a moot point. Who cares about color volume/saturation at higher brightness levels when the monitors can't even reach those higher brightness levels in the first place.

Feb 15, 2011 · Pros: With local dimming turned on the screen is a good companion for an OLED tv. Black is black, not an orange IPS glow. It also trounces my 3000:1 LG VA monitor in this regard. Perfect for static icons and other windows I don't want to leave on the OLED screen for long periods of time. The SDR PQ is fantastic, 4k videos and colors look awesome.

Aug 25, 2008 · From using the LTT resolution/bandwidth calculator - These uw resolutions look like they'd be nice to run on a 16:9 4k or 8k screen if they upped the Hz on oled tvs, even at 4k upscaled to 8k being sent as an 8k signal as far as the display would be concerned. They fit within HDMI 2.1's bandwidth, at least when using DSC 3:1 compression ratio.

Apr 20, 2022 · 4k looks nice on a 27" if you enable scaling, but I agree with the others that at 27" I'd rather have a 2560x1440 OLED than a 4k LCD for gaming. The one thing that would get me to go with an LCD in your situation is if you're going to be using the same screen for work or spend a lot of time at the computer not gaming or watching videos.

Nov 1, 2023 · 4K/240hz OLED clarity is amazing but HDR brightness is just so poor outside of super small APL. Ratchet and Clank intro sequence that takes place outdoors for example looks completely dead and no better than SDR. I'm coming from a PG32UQX so yeah this is the complete inverse - really smooth and clear in motion but super dim.
