Issues with 240 HZ AW2721D : r/Alienware - Reddit
Jan 14, 2021 · I recently bought a 27” 240hz 1440p Monitor (The Alienware AW2721d). I was hoping to be able to play overwatch with it @240HZ 1440p. However it doesn’t seem possible. Even with my high end PC :( I have enabled the Hz overlay on my monitor which shows the exact Refresh rate Hz in real time. I’m using Gsync so this is pretty useful.

Feb 29, 2024 · I was specifically looking for a 32" 4k 240Hz. My experience with the AW2721D has otherwise been great, I just wanted 4k so I could run some games at 1080p without doing weird scaling, and of course make the screen larger. I went straight to Alienware expecting to find my next monitor, but unfortunately OLED and curved is a no from me.

Nov 22, 2020 · Alienware AW2721D - Doesn't Support DSC - Limited to 144HZ at 10bit Color I can't believe Dell/Alienware didn't include DSC (Display Stream Compression) this means the most HZ you can get over DP 1.4 at 10bit color is 144hz, therefore totally negating the reason of having 240hz and 10bit, this will also directly impact VRR and HDR.

Their response: This monitor has a 10-bit color display with a maximum preset resolution of 2560 x 1440 @ 240 Hz refresh rate via the display port.

Nov 15, 2020 · That's MAG274QRF-QD, which is 165Hz model, this one is 240Hz, so there's some different. This one should compare with Acer XB273U GX, XV272U X models will be more fair, which is same 240Hz model. And AORUS usually got better ZBD warranty, and lots of additional function, so it will definitely got more expensive.
