Dec 27, 2020 · The better way would be to buy a dx12 graphics card, probably the cheapest would be an older 1050ti 4gb or a 1060 super. not only would he be able to play forza, but also all the latest titles at moderate settings. That's not necessarily better in this scenario. The problem is the power supply.

Jun 1, 2015 · A DX12 graphics card will be able to process some DX12 effects to a higher quality than DX11 cards, but it will take some time for games to catch up as well. It's still a guess (and a bit subjective) how much actual 'must have' eye-candy DX12 is really going to produce. Probably nothing much before time to upgrade the 970 anyway.

There has been some confusion in the forums with customers thinking that Windows 10 does not have DirectX 12. Aug 18, 2019 · The Display tab is where you look to find the maximum DirectX Feature Level your graphics processor is capable of using. There have been no DX12 updates as yet, and the last DX9,10 & 11 updates were in 2010. Should MS do an update to DX12 it is supposed to come via Windows Updates. There is no stand alone DX12 installer package (as yet).

Some games that use DX9 as well as DX10 or 11 effects will use DX9 if you use low graphics settings in the games setup. Others have an option to select DX10 or 11 effects .
