Ultimea Apollo P40 projector and other cheap projectors
Mar 16, 2023 · Just bought an Apollo P40 projector on Amazon. Price is $250 after instant discount. Its a 1080P LED projector that accepts 4K HDR10 signals. I set it up with a 100" screen, and was actually surprised how bright it was (700 ansi lumens was the rating) during the day with my curtains drawn. Colors were pretty spot on too.

Aug 8, 2014 · A good example of this is the Seiki 4K flat panels. Sure, they're 4K but the picture looks like garbage in comparison to most other 1080p sets. A cheap 4K projector will be the same thing compared to most of the mid-higher end 1080p units. Also unlike flat panels, some of the parts will never be cheap. I'm of course talking about lens quality.

Feb 21, 2017 · However as shown on 4K TVs, 2K 3D looks much better and sharper because of some upscaling and smaller pixels. Also, 3D is dying, so manufacturers are not including it. You could also keep your 1080p 3D projector and mount a non-4K projector next to it for best of both worlds, but not the illusion of 4K 3D that a 4K with 2K 3D could give you.

Sep 22, 2024 · It seems a lot of the newer projectors are not including 3D support anymore. (LS1200, NZ-500, 700 etc.) I will want to buy the projector that gives me the best experience for 2D 4k HDR content first and foremost. So that could end up being one that doesn't do 3D. So I am thinking of doing a second projector just for 3D duty.

Aug 17, 2021 · The X1300i is native 1080P but it accepts 4K HDR inputs and displays it as 1080P HDR. However, this will still be a nice upgrade in sharpness and colour (Full rec709 with SDR video and ~90% DCI-P3 with HDR video) from your current projector because DLP is sharper than 3LCD even at the same resolution, and it might even be brighter.

Oct 4, 2021 · Currently I watch a lot of streaming movies and the picture is compressed. You can buy 4K streaming but its still compressed. In fact my 1080P projector playing a 1080P Blu-ray at 40Mbits/s will probably look better than a 4k projector playing a 4k stream at 25Mbits/s . I researched this six months ago when I was thinking about the jump to 4K.
