Jan 13, 2021 · Nvidia comparing the 1060 to the 3060 is deplorable and is assuming their customers are idiots who won't look at what they're paying for. I didn't even mention that the 1060 was sold at a MSRP of $249, the 3060 is $329. That's a 24% increase in price, and is the same as what the GTX 970 sold for back in 2014.

Jun 30, 2023 · The 1060 is now 7 years old, so his conclusion with 81% average gain is unfair. If you look at reviews from 4 years ago when the 2060 was released, you'll see that the gain was closer to 30%. With that being said, it's still disappointing that there isn't a significant improvement from the 3060 to the 4060.

Mar 16, 2021 · 1060 is very adequate for gaming rn, and the 3060 isn’t very good value for the money compared to other ampere gpu’s. Combine that with the massive gpu shortage... I would say to save for a 3060 ti, a lot better than a 3060 and the best graphics card for the money right now, and by then the gpu shortage will mostly be over.

It is, a 3060 is roughly equivalent to a 1080 Ti in raw rasterization power. Then you also get the efficiency gains, DLSS and RTX tech plus additional VRAM (3060 = 12GB vs 1070 8GB). Very much a worthy upgrade. If you had a 1080 Ti I might say wait for something a little more powerful but this will be a good upgrade for you.

3060ti far superior, it is just toned down 3070 in reallity. 256bit bus vs 128 on 4060... try to find revamped ver with GDDR6X. I changed 1060 for 3060TI back in late 2020. Night and day difference Or go 6700XT with AMD, more VRAM but slower RTX performance

Jul 23, 2023 · I don't know about amd drivers, but I have a couple of problems with NVIDIA drivers in the last month assassin's Creed origins crashed in the water (fixed in recent driver), vrr glitch in desktop applications when windows would stutter and drop hz from 120 to 40 (haven't fixed, found a solution on Reddit which includes fiddling with nvcp profiles), and overall outdated slow gui.
