Should I update chipset drivers from MSI, AMD or Microsoft?
Aug 17, 2023 · I've had my B650 Tomahawk for about 2.5 months now, and I'm wondering where I should get my chipset drivers from. When I first got into Windows, the MSI driver utility installed the latest version from their site(5.01.29.2026). But now both me and my friend with the same chipset are starting to see individual driver updates in Windows Update:

I just noticed there's an AMD Chipset Driver on MSI MAG X570S Torpedo Max web site and its version number: 5.11.02.217 but in official AMD Chipset Driver for X570 Chipset Driver version number: 5.08.02.027 so just curious if why there's a differences between on MSI's web site and AMD's official web site as Chipset Driver versions?

Yeah, I've seen the same thing with my MSI B550 mobo. Also, I've found that sometimes the driver updates on the MSI site (notably Bluetooth & Realtek Audio) will throw errors and not even install. It's a bummer that the OEM (AMD) and their licensees (MSI, etc.) can't get their act together for their end-users to coordinate driver releases.
