As the Maharashtra Assembly elections inch closer, political parties in contention are releasing a list of candidates for the polls. On Wednesday, Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) released its first list of 38 candidates for the November 20 polls.

Zeeshan Siddique was expelled Congress in August for allegedly voting against the party during the Maharashtra legislative council elections.

Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of former MLA and NCP leader Baba Siddique, joined the NCP on Friday in the presence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, ahead of the upcoming elections.

Zeeshan Siddique, son of ex-minister Baba Siddique, joined the NCP faction led by Ajit Pawar on October 25 and was fielded from Vandre East. He was expelled from Congress in August for allegedly voting against the party in legislative council elections.

Ajit Pawar-led NCP announced a second list of candidates ahead of state elections. Zeeshan Siddiqui was allocated the Bandra East seat, while Sana Malik was nominated for Anushakti Nagar. Siddiqui joined NCP after leaving Congress.
