The Rangers (5-1-1) suffered their first regulation loss to the team it lost to in last season's Eastern Conference Final.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 24 saves for his 400th career win as the Florida Panthers defeated the New York Rangers 3-1.

Bobrovsky was particularly strong against the Rangers during last year’s Eastern Conference Final, including posting a stellar 24-save shutout in a 3-0 win in Game 1. In their return to the Big Apple, the Panthers still sense a little of that magic.

Gaining some momentum at the start of the third period, the Panthers killed off their third penalty of the game. Despite the Rangers entering the game with the sixth-ranked power play in the NHL at 31.6%, Florida’s penalty kill came out on top in the special teams battle.
