Vice President Kamala Harris will be holding a campaign speech event in D.C. this week, prompting road closures and restrictions. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said on Tuesday, Oct. 29, there will be multiple road closures and parking restrictions throughout the entire day.

DC Police announced various road closures that will be put in place during Harris' event, which will start at 7:15 p.m. but will be open to the public at 3 p.m.

State police are advising the public to anticipate traffic delays and intermittent road closures throughout the evening hours between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the rally Tuesday on the Ellipse between E Street NW, Constitution Avenue NW, 15th and 17th streets NW, according to an approved permit from the National Park Service.
