The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has released preliminary information about the four people killed in a fiery helicopter crash Sunday.

Robin Crossland always has her ear to the ground within the aviation community, and when a helicopter crash in an empty field in Houston’s East End killed four people — including a child — it was a reminder of the inherent risks taken in flight.

One of the four victims in Sunday night's fatal helicopter crash in Houston has been identified as Cesar Lerma. Lerma was one of three passengers and the pilot aboard the doomed helicopter that was taking a night tour over downtown Houston when it crashed into a radio tower in the Second Ward and spiraled into a ball of fire before crashing.

The private helicopter with four people on board, including a child, either struck a cable or the tower, Houston Police Chief J. Noe Diaz said at a news conference.

All four victims of Sunday night's deadly helicopter crash have been identified. The Medical Examiner's Office released the names of the victims who perished after the helicopter they were riding in crashed into a radio tower in the Second Ward and spiraled into a ball of fire before crashing to the ground Sunday evening.
