Law enforcement officers in western Wyoming say the driver who struck and killed a famous grizzly bear south of Grand Teton National Park was not speeding and the bear's death was an accident.

Grizzly 399′s life was thoroughly documented, leading to her becoming somewhat of a celebrity. Many were saddened by the news of her death.

The 28-year-old bear had a huge international following and her death sparks calls for overpasses to protect wildlife
