According to ILTexas, the children came into possession of the gummies after one of the students' parents shuttled high school students from a neighboring non-ILTexas school to a Halloween event the night before. The parent was unaware the THC-laced candy was left behind in the vehicle.

Children from across the state are becoming hospitalized at an alarming rate after eating candy laced with THC, according to the Louisiana Poison Control Center.

ILTexas says the College Station Police Department started an investigation and determined that the student who brought the candy to school and their family were unaware of its contents.
