On Friday, five City Council members sent a letter to Mayor Jacob Frey and Police Chief Brian O’Hara expressing their “utter horror at MPD’s failure to protect a Minneapolis resident from a clear, persistent and amply reported threat posed by his neighbor.”

A Minneapolis man is in the hospital tonight after he says his neighbor shot him. But so far Minneapolis police haven’t made an arrest yet, because they want to do it safely.

A warrant has been issued for a Minneapolis man's arrest after a year-long pattern of harassment and intimidation against his neighbors culminated in a shooting earlier this week, court documents say.

According to court documents, MPD was called to a hospital in the city for reports of a gunshot victim on Oct. 23. Upon arrival, the officers learned a man, identified as Davis Maturi, had been shot and was transported to the hospital from his home on Grand Avenue in Minneapolis.
