A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in Meriden on Wednesday evening. Emergency crews responded to Broad Street in the area of Charles Street at 7:50 p.m. upon receiving numerous calls reporting that a pedestrian had been struck, according to Sgt. Stanley Zajac of the Meriden Police Department.

Police said the 21-year-old woman was crossing the road when a sedan struck her, leaving her with serious injuries to her head and lower body.
