Creepy as expected since they added Halloween decorations and props. Guide is very good and knowledgeable. A bit claustrophobic with narrow passageways as you move from room to room. Full review by Bluette B

This was on our bucket list and boy I’m so glad we made this trip out. It was so interesting to see how this house was built and how mind-boggling to see things that didn’t make any sense in the hous… Full review by Jennygump48
I'm planning to visit in January. I want to book the mansion tour followed by the explore more tour. Are they both guided or would we need to allot some exploration time? I want to book first available it's saying 9:20 for main tour and 10:50 for explore more - does that give enough time for the main one?

Both tours are guided with no spontaneous exploring inside the house. The tours are on a tight schedule and you may feel rushed. I preferred the extended tour better than the main tour. There were too many people on our main tour to keep up to and hear the guide. The extended tour had fewer people and the pace was more relaxed.

I would only recommend if it if you purchase the regular tour first and have the time. Its discounted if you bundle them but may not be worth it if you just do that. The main tour shows you most of the big rooms. The explore more you see more rooms that were damaged during the earthquake and never really quite fixed up again by Sarah. On the explore more you go into the basement and you do get to go into the one witches cap. I guess if not seeing any of these things appeals to you and you just want to see the main features, then probably not worth it.
